A Path to Follow…

I live in Italy and my roots are both American and European: grandparents from Russia Germany and Italy, parents from UK and Argentina. I’m proud to say I belong to the world and I want one day new generations to have just one passport: being humans, living on our beautiful planet. What is happening in U.S. in these days is extraordinary and precious: a message belonging to History, for the present and the future of Humanity. The Vice President Harris represents a deep part of my soul, with her many roots, her genuine passion for people and ideals, her positive and grounded attitude towards a better future, in the name of millions of women who suffered a lot and who are still fighting to survive, to help the others, to reach a stage where they’ll feel equal, in a fair and complete way. And Biden, the President, sounded just like my President when he started talking to everybody and for all citizens. “Never mind who you voted for, now I will represent my Country, all people from the United States.” No barriers, no boundaries, and his active effort to save people lives, the passion and compassion he puts in his job, day after day. The Pandemia can’t wait, and he’s organizing the new government now: there’s no time to waste. And I know, I feel how many aspects of his human project belong to me, they have been part of me since the very beginning of my life. It’s such an important positive shift for all of us, but it will not be easy. Soon after the results, I started realizing how this pure source of energy could be very disruptive for a number of people. Taking advantage of the fact that democracy might mean also “left wing” international movements of extreme left started reappearing asking for support, being often fake and sometimes even dangerous for the Country, when they are in touch with terrorists. But, being peaceful might not mean being weak, as we knew since the very beginning: being civilized and respectful makes it impossible for us and others to fall into these “power traps”. Another danger is: being exposed ’cause we are tolerant and free. Some groups of extreme right take the opportunity to an open window in the communication system in order to try to enter, blackmailing or scaring our peaceful supporters. According to these bossy guys, we should have to know their Truth, to listen just to that, forgetting we are open to protect the rights of any civilians, any human being in need or danger and, again, this has nothing to do with Power Power and Money can easily become a drug for people, especially in difficult moments. So, let’s implement children education and Universities, to open our minds to real values, going beyond selfishness and fear. Our future generations will not know fear and mean thoughts, if we shall work together, everywhere, following the U.S. great message of peace, cooperation and global support. This is the reason why, now, a man and a woman, becoming President and Vice President in America, are showing us, Europeans and part of the civilized world, a path to follow…
